Love exciting and new, come aboard we’re expecting youuuuuuu….

And we’re back from the US. Feeling a bit jet lagged today but it was all worth it! It was a short trip (6 days) but it was long enough to see the entire family and to celebrate the marriage of my sweet God Daughter Miss Emma to her beloved Chad.

The lovely couple

Marriage of Emma and Chad in New York

We flew direct from Stockholm to Newark, 7 hours and 37 minute flight there. It was nothing! Such an easy trip. On the return flight we had the best Captain, our very own Bob Carson!! He is the sweetest person, always doting on my mom and Thomas. 🙂 We are so glad he is part of our family!

Trust him with my life!

Cool, calm and collected. Always. Exactly how I want my pilot to be! The best pilot in the world!

The flights were very comfortable.  I get all settled in, I hunker down, I wear comfortable clothes, bring my neck pillow, bottle of water and chap stick for that dry airplane air. I close my eyes and go into a meditative state for the entire trip. I take advantage of these hours as my time of reflection. I go “within” so that I can take a look at what is happening in my life, what do I want to create, what do I want to improve upon.

Lots of great thoughts and ideas come about when I quiet my mind. Funny how it took me 50 + years to realize this.

This trip I felt no stress in my chest, and I wasn’t out of breath or anxious in the least. My Qi gong and meditations are working!

I have been flying on planes my entire life and I plan on traveling the rest of my life so I came to a point where I had to accept that I have to be smart and plan for my own success.

Here is what I do.

I find that preparation is key in my life. I like to arrive to the airport early, carry as little carry-on as possible, I do not eat a huge meal before flying nor do I drink a lot of liquids while on the plane since I sit in the window seat in order to have my head rest for closing down my eyes. It may seem silly but I like to sit in the window seat so I can look out the window to talk to my dad and God.

So, on to the trip to NY.

Seeing my entire family was so wonderful. Being with my mom again. Seeing all 10 of my nieces and nephews in one place (hard to come by). Meeting up at the boat house in Sedgewood Club (where I grew up) for the rehearsal cocktail party… blast from the past.

Love for the matriarch.

Being with all 4 of my siblings….

Love my family.

Seeing old family friends that I haven’t seen in many years.

It was a fabulous time had by all. I am so thankful that Thomas and I were able to attend this blessed event.

Today would have been my fathers 84th birthday, may he rest in peace. He sure would have loved Miss Emma’s wedding. Dad always loved being with his wife, children and grandchildren.

To think about him today (and all days, which I still do after his passing in 2005) reminds me I need to cherish my loved ones. Cherish the time we have together because today is all we have. Not tomorrow. Not “the next time we meet again” because who knows if that time will ever come?

Is there old stuff you need to deal with? Old angers or hurts that you have harboring in your heart towards someone?

Do the work and figure it out. Work it out and get it out. Get it out of your heart and off your chest because you are the one being punished. No one else.

Time stops for no man.

Do you need help figuring out how to have that conversation? ASK FOR HELP! Go to a therapist. Ask a friend. Ask a COACH!

Just do it! Your heart and soul will thank you for it.

On the flip side. Do you tell the people you love that you love them? Do you say the words? If you have a hard time saying them, remember this…

You may think that you show your love for people but to state the words, I LOVE YOU to your nearest and dearest, it is for YOU.

If there is someone in your life that you have never heard the words ‘I love you’ come from their mouths, then say it to them! It feels great! Don’t expect to get it back but that’s not what this is about.  Its about YOU giving love.

When you give love, you get love.

Give it freely. Without any expectations or agenda and see how you feel inside. The first time might be scary but it gets easier and easier till it becomes natural. And if you are lucky, you will have many years of saying those beautiful words to your loved ones.

And if you don’t have years? Then at least you know you didn’t let the time slip by.

Today’s the day.

Remember, if you need help. ASK for it. People can not read your mind. I am always available for you.

Your coach,

Åsa
